Rebuilding and Moving Forward: How Trent and Fay Turned Setbacks into a Strategic Property Portfolio

Trent grew up in Toowoomba and entered the property market at a young age.

At 22, he purchased his first property, a two bedroom unit in his hometown. The decision was largely guided by well intentioned family advice. Unfortunately, the market fundamentals at the time were weak and the area was oversupplied.

After seven years, the property had achieved only modest growth. While disappointing, the experience became an important lesson that would shape how Trent approached investing later in life.

Life then took a dramatic turn.

At 30, Trent went through a divorce only months after getting married. The property was sold as part of the settlement and after legal costs and the asset split, he walked away with just $5,000.

Within the same week, he also lost his job.

Rather than staying stuck in that moment, Trent made a bold decision. He used his remaining savings to travel to Europe. During that trip he met Fay, who would later become his wife.

What began as an unexpected encounter eventually became the start of a new chapter.

Fay visited Australia six months later, moved permanently another six months after that, and several years later the couple were married.

They initially lived in Coogee before relocating to Brisbane in 2018, where they began rebuilding their lives together.

Today, Trent and Fay have two young children and a clear focus on creating the kind of future they want for their family.

Our Strategy
